If you have a Windows 10 computer with limited storage or solid-state drive (SSD), you can reclaim some hard drive space on your device and improve speed by getting rid of files and data to other devices.

Following are three ways that can help you free up hard drive space on your Windows 10 PC. Let’s check out now!

1. Uninstall apps

Some apps can take up a lot of space, so you can uninstall them to free up the hard drive space anfd improve your Windows 10 PC. To do this, you go to the Settings app, choose System and then select  Apps & features to see all the apps downloaded. Now you need to see which apps are using the most space on your computer and delete those that you can live without. Next, you choose an app that doesn’t have anything too valuable on it, click on it and click the Uninstall button.

Uninstalling applications you rarely use can help free up some space on your Windows 10 PC.

2. Empty the recycle bin

Microsoft’s newest operating system Windows 10 uses the recycle bin to hide all the files you want to throw away. Therefore, you can empty it out to free up extra space. To do this, go to the Start menu and head to Settings. Next, choose System and then go to Storage. Under this PC, click on Temporary files. Now you will see Recycle bin under which you choose  Empty recycle bin, and confirm your decision. Alternatively, you right-click on the recycle bin icon for the option to directly empty it.

3. Delete duplicate photos

Firstly, you need to download and install the Duplicate Photo Finder app. Once the app is installed, you open it and click the plus “+” sign button on the Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder main screen. The purpose of this step is to add a folder location you want to scan for duplicate images. Now you tap on the Start Search button to start the scan. You will be then presented with all the duplicate pictures and similarity score. Finally, you just need to to click the Delete button on the images you want to remove and tap on Yes to confirm deletion to the Recycle bin.

Click Yes to confirm deletion to the Recycle bin.
